Hi, I’m Lincoln and today I’m going to show you some facts about presidential inaugurations as we prepare for the inauguration of Donald Trump.
Fact 1: JFK’s inauguration nearly turned into a bonfire when the podium suddenly caught fire. Thankfully, it was put out and Kennedy even smiled.
Fact 2: Lincoln’s (not me) inauguration was so wild that the police had to be called in.
Fact 3: President Obama’s inauguration cost 150 million dollars! That was the most expensive inauguration in US history.
Fact 4: The tickets for James Madison’s inaugural ball was $4 a person. That price has increased to $12,500 for the Trump Inauguration.
Fact 5: Surprisingly, the only presidents to WALK to the inauguration through the parade were Jimmy Carter and Thomas Jefferson.
Fact 6: President Dwight was lassoed by an actual cowboy during the inauguration.
Fact 7: Bill Clinton’s second inauguration was the first to be live streamed on the internet.
Fact 8: The shortest inauguration speech was 135 words long and was spoken by George Washington.
Fact 9: G. Washington’s speech was also partially ad-libbed.
Fact 10: 1.8 million people attended President Obama’s inauguration in 2009.
Now let’s talk about the upcoming inauguration of President Donald J. Trump (I’ll try not to be biased. It’s hard).
Fact 1: One of the balls that will happen after the inauguration has been called the “Deploraball”, it is making fun of Hillary’s remarks that Trump’s supporters are deplorable.
Fact 2: The Rockettes and Mormon Tabernacle Choir has refused or quitted in response to their upcoming what-used-to-be-a-performance at the inauguration.
Fact 3: Trump’s inauguration is estimated to cost 175-200 million dollars.
Well, that’s it for this month. See you soon.
